With the end of the year fast approaching, the time has come for a little recap. The year 2020 has been, well, difficult. However, in FUERGY we managed to make the most of it and had a few huge breakthroughs. We installed the biggest smart battery system in Slovakia, started an important cooperation, made green energy more affordable, introduced our Energy-as-a-Service concept to the market, built our brand across various international media and expanded our product portfolio, just to name a few achievements.
Let's have a look back at our year in detail.
Installation of the biggest smart battery system in Slovakia
After in-depth testing, hardware, and software adjustments we installed the first smart battery system brAIn by FUERGY with a capacity of 432 kWh in September. The customer was G&E Trading a.s., an energy supplier of the industrial park in Senec. The installation was successfully completed and we were proud of our battery system which is unique and, thanks to the implementation of artificial intelligence and advanced functionalities, unmatched even in the neighbouring countries.
Cooperation with Slovenské elektrárne
First results of our software solution and battery storage brAIn caught the attention of a subsidiary of Slovakia's biggest electricity producer, Slovenské elektrárne – energetické služby. They included a new product 'brAIn and solar panels for rent' into their portfolio. The first satisfied customer of the product is a textile manufacturing company in Humenne. Besides the ability to produce their own energy, the company enjoys all the advantages of modern energy storage while saving the energy-related costs at the same time. Thanks to this cooperation, renewable energy and our technology have become more affordable and, therefore, we believe that it will help to increase the amount of solar power installed capacity and incentivise companies across the country to lower their CO2 emissions.
Energy optimization as an EaaS solution
Besides batteries, we also offer energy applications and optimization solutions for rent. The EaaS concept – Energy-as-a-Service – allows for improvements in energy efficiency without investment in expensive software. The customers can now optimize their savings on the level of particular delivery points or the entire balance groups, upgrade their energy trading to 24/7, optimize the usage of local energy sources and their consumption, and much more. Each customer gets a customized solution which can be implemented quickly thanks to the modularity of our software.
FUERGY among the Top 3 green startups to watch in 2020
Our company was mentioned by Yahoo Finance and we even managed to be on the top of the list of the most exciting green startups of the year. For us, this was a clear sign that what we do is important and that the world impatiently awaits innovations that will clean the air and reverse the impact of climate change.
The difference between the pollution we have now and what we could have with significant CO2 emission reduction was very visible this year. For example, inhabitants of Punjab, India were able to see the Himalayas for the first time in decades as the lockdown, due to the coronavirus outbreak, eased the air pollution. With FUERGY, this one-time occasion can become an everyday reality.
CEO of FUERGY, Radoslav Stompf, listed among 20 tech leaders in Europe to follow
Not everyone has such a deep knowledge of energetics as Radoslav Stompf. The energy industry is a very specific sector in that what seems green and sustainable can result in bigger environmental threats than the infamous fossil fuels. However, thanks to years of experience, Radoslav is able to design truly effective solutions towards sustainable energy generation. The top tech leaders list was published in Entrepreneur and it was a great honor for Radoslav and the whole FUERGY team to be included.
To sum up, the year 2020 has brought a lot to our company and it has had a great influence on the future of our development. Not only did we adjust our existing products and services but also we identified several new applications that can ease the transition to modern and green energy for us as well as other energy companies. These fresh solutions will be introduced during Q1 of the following year on our website, which is currently being redesigned.
